Every Propbench result is an engineering estimate from a physical model and the figures entered. Each result shows its inputs, assumptions and the range it is valid for.

Real boats differ from the model: load, hull condition, the exact prop and the engine's state all matter. How far estimates can be off is measured on real sea trials and described on the methods page.
